Worst week of my life!

So we started out Monday and Tuesday looking for a cat, in shelters and online and such. We went to the shelter in Spanish Fork on Wednesday and found a lovely little black female cat, and we adopted her and took her home. We named her Charlotte, since it goes so well with our last name. We had everything she needed and she was so adorable and playful.

Then Friday night she started feeling sick. I hadn't seen her eat or drink for a while, so we were a little concerned, but we were hoping it was just a fluke. We went to bed, and that night she threw up several times all over our bedroom floor, and it just got worse. So Saturday night we took her to the vet in petsmart while we were there buying stuff to clean the carpet, and they weren't sure what could be wrong with her. They gave her some antibiotics and injected some fluids into her. We had an appointment with her regular vet on Monday, so we figured she'd be okay till then. Sunday all she wanted to do was curl up in a corner, and not do anything. Now we were getting worried, and we tried to force-feed her some baby food and water, but she couldn't keep it down. Then we took her to the vet Monday afternoon, and the vet told us how bad it probably was. We decided to hospitalize her, to give her the best chance to fight off the virus she had, which was probably feline paleokemia, or something.

Worried sick about her, we went home hoping she would recover soon. That night I felt a little strange after dinner, and I had a pain that I've had before, so I took a Tums and some Pepto and went to bed. At about 1 in the morning or so, I woke Jacob up and told him I really wasn't feeling so great, I couldn't sleep, and I needed some help. We tried lots of different things, I finally asked for a blessing, and then after that I went in the bathroom and spent the rest of the night throwing up. The pain in my abdomen didn't subside no matter what I did, and I sat in front of the toilet the whole night, no being able to go back to bed.

Finally at about five in the morning, I knew there was something wrong more than just a stomach flu so I had Jake take me to the Emergency room. Once we got there they gave me an anti nausea and some morpheme, and took an ultrasound. Turns out I have bad Gall stones and I'll need surgery. They gave me a prescription for some Lortab and more anti nausea and sent me home with a phone number to call a surgeon. I called the surgeon the next day, got an appointment for Wednesday afternoon, and crashed in bed for the rest of the day. It was miserable. Waiting for the doctor's appointment I laid groaning in bed. We got a call, and Jake told me I had bad news, we had lost Charlotte. It was little more than I could deal with for the time.

That afternoon we went to the surgeon. He checked some things out and told me I should have surgery, let's do it as soon as possible. He sent me home and I got an appointment for surgery the next morning at 6:30 in the morning. The hospital called for my information, turns out I left my insurance card at the doctor's office in their copier, and there's no way to get a new one for like 10 days. And they're worried that my maiden name on my account will cause problems. I had a major panic attack, found some information online, made a million phone calls, and got it figured out for the time being.

I couldn't sleep that night, I was freaking out pretty bad. In the morning we were so tired, but we went in, they did some tests, my surgeon came in to talk to me, and everything. They wheeled me in, and knocked me out. The next thing I knew, I was waking up in post-op and they were trying to give me ice cubes and some more pain meds. Then they took me back to Jacob and all the normal recovery stuff. I got some juice and crackers and all those things. After a while they decided it was time for me to get up and try walking around. So they put my IV on a pole and I held that in one hand and Jake's arm in the other and we started walking. When we got about ¾ of the way around, the nurse stopped us and said, are you doing okay? I said I was fine, and she said “No honey not you, your husband! You're the one in the hospital gown, but he's the one turning green!” So she handed me off to another nurse and she took Jake back to the room and got him an ice pack and some juice and Oreos and stuff. Jake was quite a funny color, but after he sat back down he started getting some color back.

So since then we've been trying to deal with all the issues with my surgery and with losing Charlotte and everything. So it's not the greatest thing right now. But we're trying to be tough and get our lives back together.

Jake just loves his new ipad, so I take the cake for the awesome gift award this year, and Jake got me some new cricket stuff I can't wait to use! I made our stockings myself and don't we look so cute early in the morning! lol

We went to the park every day for 5 days with cute little outfits and lots of plans everyday! The park was still all dressed up for the Holidays and everything looked just great! Here's some shots, we still managed to have fun even with all the crowds!

Well we haven't blogged in a while, but now that we're done with school, I figured I'd update us. We finished the semester and did better in some classes, and worse in others.... but not to worry, we are moving on with life. I'm applying to the English Teaching major this summer, and Jake is hopefully picking a new major since he decided against the old one.

So let's see what we've been up to...

Married Life

Well I figured I would make this blog about us and not just me since me being married is pretty much what I'm all about.
Adventure of married life for this week: We went to the DMV yesterday, and I was pretty sure that we got everything we needed and they were finally open when we could go and then we were off to orem to finally the right office after getting shuffled around. So we had the right office and the right form and we were so excited. We waited in the huge line with everyone and got up to the counter and we handed the girl all of our papers and such, and then she asked for our birth certificates. I told her well here is my social security card and my current, still valid driver's license. But no, she still couldn't help me. and no help for Jacob who's birth certificate was incinerated. So we got the number for the new york vital records office to get a new one. wahoo. For now we'll just work on getting our taxes done so we can get some money back from the silly government.

First day on the job, what an adventure!

Well today was my first day working without a trainer. YAYAS. So I looked up my schedule and assignment online at about 9 30, just to be sure about everything. And I figured that I would go get my new costumes in the morning. I had to sign into work at 11 45, and so I left for the 9 57 bus to get there and get my costume in plenty of time. However, I forgot about the triathlon today. So the bus didn't get here till 10 15 and we had to go the long way around to avoid the event.

Once I got there, I decided that I had enough time to still change out my costumes. so I went to costuming, and turned all my old ones in. I didn't know what I was doing at first, but it was easier than I thought. Then I set off to find my new costumes. The computer said I was working Adventureland, so I had to get the right outfit for that. and I have Frontier land for later on in the week, so I got that one too. And a cross over costume we call the "breaker" that you can wear in any land. So I have my three costumes, but they don't' have all the belts I need in my size, so I had to get some a little bigger, but no big deal. So I go to ring them up, and the lady says, oh , you grabbed the male costume for these, and hands me back some of them, so I had to go get the female ones, (they look completely the same btw)and check those out. Whew!

So I got my costumes, onto the bus to take me to the park. I get there, and I'm a little late, so I kinda run to the locker room, and put all my stuff down, and then... I realize something. I don't have my shoes. I"m wearing flip flops and my shoes are no where to be seen. Where are they? I freak out. then I remember I didn't have them on the bus because I had my hangers in one hand and my belts in the other. CRAP! So I run back to the bus, get on it, ride back to costuming and then I run through the place looking for my shoes. and I can't see them anywhere! gaaaaahhhhh!!!! what do I do? I start panicking, I don't have the number to call them and tell then what's wrong, then I see a computer, maybe I'll just call in sick, and then I'll get to go to church, and my day will be better! but there's a girl already using the computer. So I wait, and in my anguish I turn around and... THERE THEY ARE! MY SHOES! sitting on the belt rack. I'd set them down to try and find my size. yays! so I grab my shoes and run back to the bus. Get back on the bus and ride it back, run back through the tunnels and to the locker room,and hurry and change into the adventure land costume.

Then I head to the garage, it's rather far away, and I'm already late. yipes! So I clock in, and it says main street beverage...uh oh. I'm wearing adventure land, and it says mainstreet. What do I do!!!!???? so I go talk to a manager and tell them that it's my first day, and help! so they tell me to go put my breaker on and come back. So then I run back all the way through the tunnel to my locker to change, and then run all the way out. I felt like I was the one in a marathon! whew! so I get my money and people are helping me get everything together, and then I get my tablet, which is the computer that I use for my register. But it wont' take my id number or my password, and then I got to sit there, and try again, and wait and ask for the manager to help, and then try again and wait, and ask for help, and try again and wait and ask for help. etc. you get the idea. an HOUR later, it's starting to work. thank goodness. So I head out there, and the girl is totally frazzled, poor thing. So I get all set up and help out. But then I accidentally turn my tablet off, and I have to start all over. lol great. oh well, got it working. whew. not so bad. But then it starts not reading slides. Like anytime I slide a card, I have to punch in the number again, and that doesn't always work right. and have you seen how many numbers those things have!? it takes forever! whew, yikes. some guests weren't very happy, but it's okay it worked out okay.

and then someone brings me my blesses slip that says I can go to break. yays! So I head down to the cafeteria, down by the lockers. and eat a sandwich. I call my mom to wish her a happy mothers day. Told her all about my day. It was rather amusing. then I head back to the garage for my next assignment, but I decide I've got to use the bathroom, so I stop along the way. Now this might be tmi for some of you... but to my dismay I had started my period, and bled through my pants. big time. YIKES! so I took care of is at best as I could, and then put them back on and went to the mirror. luckily, you couldn't tell from the front or the back, as long as I kept my legs together. It was going to have to do. So I went back to the garage, hoping no one would ever notice.

They ended up putting me back on my same tablet so that was fine. except it still wasn't running cards right. what a mess. And now, to top it off, i was cramping like CRAZY! fabulous. so work work work work work. Got to see a parade, and like part of a show through the trees. So that was nice. but you know. still work.

Then I got to go home! yays! so, that leaves me here. whew, what a day! good thing I had a couple of things to get me through the day. Getting to see the castle all day, how many of you could say that at your job you get to look at Cinderella's castle all day? and I got to see lots of people and talk to them. They're excited about being there, it's hard not to join in the spirit. and Jacob. he gets me through anything. I love that boy. And now I need to sleep. yays. :D I have to go get a new costume tomorrow, hope that day goes better!

Okay everyone Meet Jacob

Okay, so since the whole family is coming for Chris's graduation, I thought I'd give you the heads up about my new boyfriend. His name is Jacob Webb, he's from upstate new york. He's attending BYU and we meet through my roommate who knows one of his friends. Let's see what else... He's nice and tall, so he fits in pretty well. :D We've been dating for almost two whole months now, so we're doing pretty good. He's going to stay in Provo for the summer and work hard to earn some money for the fall, when I get back from Florida. He's really smart, and the sweetest thing since chocolate cake. He even *gasp* does my dishes and cleans my apartment when he comes over. He's also a sports fan, he played basketball and other things in high school. He went on his mission to Las Vegas, Spanish speaking, so I've been practicing my Spanish from time to time. Basically he's just wonderful, and I'm excited for the rest of my family to meet him. :D

ST. Patty's

So St. Patrick's day was rather fun around here. I wrote my speech and everything, and when I got back, Jacob took me to a party at his friends house in honor of the special holiday. So when we got there we got little beer mug shot glasses, and we filled them with root beer and played fun games and such. We were taking silly pictures so Jacob decided to fake propose. (At least I hope it was fake, he used my CTR ring and I kinda laughed in his face. lol!) I just thought I'd share the smile. I hope to get up a decent picture of us sometimes soon so that you can all see him properly. :D

So this morning I had an over whelming desire to jump on Whitney while she was sleeping, and yell Body Slam! just like I used to do with Melissa. and it made me laugh. Then I launched off into the story of the time I ran in Melissa's room in slow motion, going BOOOOOODDDYYYYY SSSSSLLLAAAAAAMMMMM. it was awesome. and she laughed really hard. and there's my happy memory for the day. Really random but it need to be put on here. :)
